San Diego county accepting applications for $4k Stimulus Check

San Diego County is offering a potential stimulus check of $4,000 to families and seniors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Families and seniors residing in San Diego County, who have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, have the potential to qualify for a stimulus check amounting to $4,000.

Limited Time to Apply for the Stimulus Check

During a press conference on Friday at the County Administration Center, officials from the County Health and Human Services Agency and the Jewish Family Service of San Diego announced the launch of a new program called the Recovery Action Fund for Tomorrow (RAFT). 

This program was developed to support low-income families, adults, and seniors who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is funded by the County through the federal American Rescue Plan Act funds.

Starting on Monday, San Diego County began accepting applications for a one-time stimulus check of $4,000 for over 2,000 eligible families. 

The deadline for applications is May 21, and applicants can visit the Jewish Family Service website to apply.

The application is available in nine different languages, and only one application per household will be accepted.

Documenting Eligibility

To be eligible for the one-time stimulus check from San Diego County, applicants must have an income below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level, which is less than $30,000 annually for individuals and $60,000 annually for a family of four.

Applicants are required to provide proof of eligibility, including identification and household income levels. 

Supporting documents could include green cards or state IDs, 2020 or 2021 tax returns, driver’s licenses, passports, social security documents, or proof of qualification for other assistance programs like CalFresh or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

It is important to mention that the Jewish Family Service will select 2,250 families or individuals at random from the pool of eligible applicants to receive the one-time stimulus check.

Those who are at risk of homelessness will be given priority.
