San Diego families who were impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak may be eligible for one of the final Stimulus Check programs.
Starting on Monday, those who are still having financial difficulties can apply for a fresh $4,000 grant. Families with low incomes that qualify may apply for a grant from the Recovery Action Fund for Future (RAFT).
Announcement of Stimulus Check Program
The San Diego County approved the plan and made an announcement last Friday. The County Health and Human Services Agency officials, along with Nora Vargas, the Chair of the County Board, and representatives from the Jewish Family Service, came together to announce the plan.
In an official statement, Vargas acknowledged the ongoing struggles faced by many residents due to the measures implemented to control and mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Vargas expressed the intention of utilizing the allocated funds to help individuals overcome these hardships.
The Jewish Family Service, as stated on its website, has specified that financial assistance will be provided to families with children under 18 years old and to seniors, with a focus on aiding those who are most vulnerable to homelessness.

Enhancing Financial Flexibility
According to the non-profit organization, the Rapid Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) program will distribute one-time cash payments of $4,000 to eligible families with children under 18 years old and seniors, with priority given to those at risk of homelessness.
The fund aims to address the increasing demand for flexible financial resources, connect recipients with additional support services to optimize the use of these funds and assist them in planning for their future.
Applicants must have an annual income that is less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level to be eligible for the one-time payment of up to $4,000 from a Stimulus Check. To qualify for the award, a family of four must earn no more than $60,000 per year, and an individual must earn no more than $30,000 per year.
It is crucial to emphasize that not all qualifying families will receive a Stimulus Check, and the selection process will remain at random until the fund is depleted.
Successful applicants will receive the funds directly in their bank accounts via wire transfer, and the funds will be provided as a grant, meaning they will not be required to be repaid. Recipients will have the freedom to use the money in a manner of their choosing.
