Recent research found that Utah citizens are now slightly less satisfied with President Joe Biden’s job performance.
According to a recent survey by the Deseret News/Hinckley Institute of Politics, a majority of registered voters in Utah, accounting for 65%, expressed disapproval of President Biden’s job performance.
Age Breakdown Of Biden’s Approval Ratings
In comparison, 33% said they approve, while 3% remained unsure. These figures indicate a slight increase in disapproval since December 2022 when it stood at 61%. The survey reveals that conservative voters in Utah are the least impressed, with only 3% of those identifying as very conservative and 12% as somewhat conservative approving of Biden’s performance.
On the other hand, approval was indicated by 76% of very liberals and 86% of slight liberals, respectively. In Utah, 53% of moderate voters expressed approval. Biden received support from 88% of Democrats, 15% of Republicans, and 38% of people who identified as others when party affiliations were taken into account.
The age breakdown shows that Biden’s approval ratings are lower among all age groups in the state. However, he enjoys the highest approval among those aged 25 to 40, with a 40% approval rate, followed by individuals aged 41 to 56 at 34%, and those aged 57 and older at 31%. The youngest age group, 18 to 24, exhibited the lowest approval rate at only 24%.

Contrasting Approval Ratings Among Men And Women
In terms of gender, 40% of female registered voters in Utah approved of Biden, while only 27% of men did so.
Among active Latter-day Saints in Utah, 77% expressed disapproval of Biden’s job performance, whereas 20% approved. Among somewhat or not active Latter-day Saints, 63% disapproved, while 36% approved.
In his candidacy for reelection at the federal level, Biden faces obstacles, which showed a divide among Democrats on whether to nominate him again, with 47% in favor and 47% opposed. The poll also revealed a nationwide disapproval rating of 56% for Biden and a 36% approval rating.
While more U.S. adults perceive Biden as honest and trustworthy compared to former President Donald Trump, who leads in Republican nomination polls, Trump holds an advantage over Biden in respondents’ perception of the mental sharpness and physical health required to serve effectively as president.
Biden confronts various policy challenges, including debt ceiling negotiations with House Republicans, concerns about the economy, and the expiration of Title 42, expected to result in an influx of asylum-seekers at the U.S.-Mexico border.
The Deseret News/Hinckley Institute poll surveyed 800 registered voters in Utah from April 25-28, conducted by Dan Jones and Associates, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.46 percentage points.
