As food insecurity persists in the United States, many rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to purchase essentials.
On the other hand, some people living in the Fargo area are reporting lengthy delays in the delivery of these benefits, leaving them with a sense of helplessness.
Previous Setbacks With SNAP Benefits
Ashley Drylie, who claims she relies on SNAP benefits to help feed her children, said, “I am sitting here with nothing to my name and no income, and I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
This is not the first time that Drylie has been subjected to such setbacks. Back in November, she went a significant portion of her time without receiving her benefits, and the only way she was able to get them again was by speaking with a manager.
This time, however, she was unable to speak to anyone in a more senior position.

Concern For Other Families In Similar Situations
Drylie explained, “All they told me to do was make use of the food banks around the Fargo area.”
Drylie claims that she is concerned about other families who may be in a similar situation, despite the fact that she is having trouble making ends meet without her benefits.
According to Drylie, “We’re already struggling” to provide for the families that come in and ask for assistance. “I just get the feeling that the services are kicking us when we’re already down,” the man said.
Valley News Live learned from speaking with the Cass Human Services Zone that the organization is in the process of upgrading the software that powers its system.
As a result, some customers may be required to wait in line while the upgrade is being completed.
