A donation of one hundred thousand dollars will be made by Disney to support STEM education in Orange County public schools.

The Neighborhood Science Program seeks to offer STEM instruction in disadvantaged neighborhoods’ after-school programs and community centers.

The program is helpful in addressing the nation’s underrepresentation of women and people of minorities in STEM disciplines as well as Florida’s growing demand for STEM careers.

Students will also take part in activities that help them develop their skills, such as robotics, 3D printing, and coding.

Orlando Science Center President & CEO JoAnn Newman remarked, “With the help of partners like Disney, we are giving youngsters an opportunity for inspiration and instruction.

Neighborhood Science contributes to the pipeline that connects the Science Center with schools, community centers, and exciting STEM professions.
