State Representative Paul Takac will help Centre County residents apply for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program at numerous clinics.
Pennsylvanians who are 65 or older, widows or widowers 50 or older, or those with disabilities 18 or older who meet certain criteria may be eligible for a rebate on their property taxes or rent.
Renters Maximum Rebate
Renters have a lower maximum of $15,000 per year compared to homeowners’ $35,000, and half of their Social Security income is disregarded. Claimants who match all other criteria and have at least one day of residency in the claim year may have their spouses, personal representatives, or estates file rebate applications on their behalf.

- Howard United Methodist Church, located at 144 Main Street on May 18, Thursday, 12 p.m – 2 p.m
- Snow Shoe Township Building (268 Old Side Road, Clarence) May 23, Tuesday, 12-2 p.m
- Centre Region Active Adult Center (2901 E College Ave. Suite #990, State College) May 31, Wednesday, 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m
Bring documentation of any 2022 income, including Social Security Income, pension and annuity benefits, and any other income you got that year in order to file for a rebate at the clinic.
Owners are obligated to show proof of payment for any 2022 property tax payments. Tenants are responsible for submitting the PA Rent Certificate and the full year’s rent payment for 2022.
