New footage of the Teen Takeover of downtown Chicago shows a terrified woman being brutally beaten and robbed by a group of teens.
The video appears to show a woman trying to enter 129 Wabash Avenue in Chicago, an apartment building near the city’s Millennium Park, during the weekend’s downtown riot, which was widely shared on social media as part of a larger mix tape of the unrest.

Before she can enter, however, a large group of individuals surrounds her and blocks the entrance. The video then shows individuals pouncing on her.
During the assault, the woman, aged 18 to 24, was with a male victim aged 22 years old, according to Chicago police.
According to the police report, the mob surrounded the victims and struck them multiple times before stealing their belongings and fleeing in an unknown direction.
The victims were transported to the University of Illinois Hospital with what were deemed to be minor injuries, but no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Investigators Find Crime Evidence on Social Media
On Monday, the Chicago Police Department released a statement saying that protecting the city’s residents, visitors, and especially its youth, is their top priority.
The statement added that investigators are using social media posts to piece together evidence of any crimes that may have been committed during the weekend’s downtown chaos.
The department also outlined measures to enhance safety, including the monitoring of all activity and the installation of surveillance cameras in an effort to streamline the reallocation of resources when necessary.
There will be additional security measures, such as bag checks at beach entrances and a curfew for minors in Millennium Park. In preparation for such gatherings, the CPD is also collaborating closely with youth and outreach workers, according to the department.
Hundreds of teenagers and young adults descended upon downtown Chicago on Saturday for the Teen Takeover. There were multiple reports of assaults and gunfire in the area, as well as footage of numerous teenagers entering traffic and vandalizing automobiles.
In an effort to restore order, a large police presence was required in the downtown area, and the police department vowed to punish those responsible for crimes committed during the disorder.
The department made it clear in a statement that they will not stand for the reckless, disorderly, and violent behavior seen downtown over the weekend. We ask that our teenagers exercise caution and maturity over the weekend, but those who break the law will be held accountable.
