The victim was identified as 5-year-old Eliyanah Crisostomo on a GoFundMe page created by a family friend. On April 21, she would have celebrated her own birthday.
“Thirty seconds after a bullet struck their 5-year-old daughter, she passed away,” wrote organizer Jeff McGrew. Investigators are making every effort to determine who committed this crime.
It occurred around 6:40 p.m. on I-880 near Fremont, and she later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.

Police investigating separate Fremont shooting
Officers from the Santa Cruz Police Department later assisted in stopping a vehicle and recovering a gun that three suspects allegedly threw out of a window on Highway 17.
Uncertain as to whether their arrest was related to the shooting. State police, who are leading the investigation into I-880, have stated that they are still investigating.
On the same evening, Fremont police were also investigating a separate shooting that occurred minutes earlier on Fremont Boulevard.
Police stated in a statement that the shooting may have been gang-related and that the intended victim was not injured.
Eliyanah’s death on a Fremont highway occurred after the county’s district attorney told the family of another child’s alleged killers that she was exploring ways to keep them out of prison.
In an email sent to a community member and obtained by local media, Alameda County District
Attorney Pamela Price, whose campaign was backed by billionaire progressive donor George Soros, made the remarks.
