After a massive disturbance during the opening weekend of a popular Missouri amusement park, administrators are demanding responsibility.
A deputy working off-duty security at Worlds of Fun around 7:30 p.m. overheard a call from park security about a fight involving multiple teenagers and a large crowd, according to the Clay County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities estimated that between 100 and 150 teenagers participated in the massive disturbance.
The crowd was dissolved and the visitors were escorted out of Worlds of Fun by deputies, Worlds of Fun security, and off-duty police officers from the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.
Authorities reported that as police and deputies worked to clear the park, additional fights broke out. One teen girl allegedly refused to leave the park with a group of juveniles and punched the deputy in the face as she was escorting them out. She was taken into custody and turned over to her parents.

Destructive guests discharged
As the crowd was pushed into the parking lot, according to the authorities, additional fights broke out in the parking lot.
Law enforcement was unable to verify reports from minors that one of the teens involved had displayed a firearm.
Saturday at 8:30 p.m., a spokesperson for the Clay County Sheriff’s Office stated that the park had been cleared.
On Saturday evening, a number of guests were removed from the park due to disorderly conduct and altercations. The police departments of Kansas City, Missouri, and Clay County, Missouri, as well as Park Security, reacted swiftly.
Police added, “We do not want any guest at Worlds of Fun to experience this behavior.” We have zero tolerance for this type of behavior and believe that those responsible must be held accountable. The safety of our guests and employees is our top priority at all times.
