Joe Biden announces intent to seek re-election in 2024 presidential campaign

While not yet ready to make the announcement, US President Joe Biden stated on Monday that he intends to compete for reelection in 2024.

Although President Joe Biden hasn’t made a formal declaration, he has stated his intention to run as the Democratic candidate in 2024. Both Biden and Kamala Harris, the vice president, have declared their intention to run together.

President Joe Biden Wants Another Four-Year Term

The remarks were made in a casual interview with American channel NBC just before the traditional Easter children’s picnic at the White House.

In the past, Mr. Biden has stated that he intentionally intends to run for another four-year term.

During a press conference in November of last year, the president stated that he would be open to running for re-election, but added that he would discuss the matter with his family during the holiday season.

First Lady Jill Biden stated in February that the only real issue still up for discussion was when the official announcement would be made.

An announcement may have happened as early as February, but White House staff later pushed the potential date back to April.

According to the most recent sources, Mr. Biden may wait until the start of the next campaign fundraising quarter in July to maximize the amount of time he has to raise funds before having to publicly reveal them.

While not yet ready to make the announcement, US President Joe Biden stated on Monday that he intends to compete for reelection in 2024.

The two contenders who have officially entered the race for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2024 are anti-vaccine activist Robert Kennedy Jr. and best-selling self-help author Marianne Williamson.

But, it doesn’t appear like any notable Democratic officeholders are thinking about challenging the incumbent.

Since he doesn’t have any intimidating opponents inside his own party, Mr. Biden may decide when to make a formal declaration without facing a lot of pressure from outside sources.

According to his advisers, he believes it will be advantageous to contrast his job as president with that of his probable Republican opponents, who are either involved in party politics or, in the case of Donald Trump, is dealing with the repercussions of criminal prosecution.

The former president entered a not-guilty plea last week in a Manhattan court on the fabrication of company records.

Yet, Mr. Biden and his advisors are covertly putting together a campaign team and staffing Future Forward, an independent political action committee that will raise money for the president’s reelection campaign.

The oldest president in US history is Joe Biden, who is 80 years old. At the end of his second term, if he is elected again, he will be 86 years old.
