Police arrested a Missouri woman with a history of bank robberies Wednesday for allegedly trying to steal money from a Pleasant Hill financial institution.
The Pleasant Hill Police Department reported that at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to reports of a bank robbery in progress at the Goppert National Bank located on North Highway 7 in the city of Pleasant Hill.
Missouri Police Arrest Bonnie Gooch
On their way to the crime scene, officers were provided with a description of the suspect as well as her vehicle. Bonnie Gooch, age 78, was arrested following a traffic stop conducted after their arrival at the scene.
Gooch was arrested without incident, according to the police.
Gooch is frequently accused of acting in this manner, according to a report from Kansas City, Missouri.
In 2020, Gooch, then 75 years old, was arrested in Lee’s Summit for bank robbery and subsequently convicted.
The local news station reported that Gooch’s sentence has been suspended, but she has been placed on probation until November 2021.
Gooch was arrested on Wednesday in the neighborhood surrounding the bank.

Take Money from a Bank Without Permission
Prosecutors in Cass County charged Gooch with either stealing from or attempting to steal from a financial institution and set her bond at $25,000.
Thomas Wright, the police chief of Pleasant Hill, described the situation as obviously stressful. “But when the hands of an elderly woman emerge from the vehicle, and she is the driver of the suspect vehicle, it is somewhat shocking,” the police officer said.
Then, Wright informed the station that the department will investigate the events in their entirety and determine if Gooch needs assistance.
According to the police, when Gooch robbed a bank in 2020, she employed a similar strategy to the one employed on Wednesday. She allegedly accomplished this by presenting a note to the bank’s personnel.
In the criminal complaint filed in 2020, it is stated that Gooch was convicted of bank robbery 46 years earlier in the state of California.
