Furthermore, they may be valued at up to 10% of 2020 income taxes, whichever is larger. The agency has already made approximately 75,000 weekly payments and plans to make 800,000 payments totaling up to $500 million by the end of March.
To qualify for the rebates, taxpayers had to complete their tax returns by December 31, 2022, and they had to be full-year Idaho residents in both 2020 and 2021. This includes individuals who filed Form 24 to claim the food credit return, which is worth $100 to most state taxpayers. The Tax Commission has made online tracking services available to taxpayers, and qualifying taxpayers should expect to receive their payments by March 31.
Idaho is not the only state that is distributing funds. Alaska is keeping paying its annual Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) of $3,200 beginning in 2022. There is, however, a $2,600 tax catch for individuals getting the PFD.
