According to the prosecution, Adam Montgomery allegedly repeatedly hit his daughter in the head on or around December 7, 2019. Based on the prosecution, the defendant is accused of pressuring his wife to give false testimony, which led to the charge of tampering with a witness.

The remains of Harmony have not been located. She would be eight years old if she were alive today.

In Harmony’s case, the court order to send her to New Hampshire to live with her father and stepmother was made in 2019, according to a state report from February. Crystal Sorey, Harmony’s mother, told officials that the last time she saw her daughter was via FaceTime in the spring of 2019.

In July 2019, an anonymous call was made to New Hampshire’s Division for Children, Youth, and Families claiming that during a visit a week prior, Adam Montgomery acknowledged to the report that he gave Harmony a black eye.

The report states that Harmony was visited by a caseworker on the day of the anonymous call, but they failed to notice that she had a black eye.
