Audrey Hale, a 28-year-old transgender artist, entered a Nashville Christian school Monday and killed six people, including three 9-year-olds.
During a 14-minute rampage, cops shot her in a public spot. Authorities said the killer had attended Covenant School, a church-affiliated elementary school, years earlier and was seeing a doctor for an emotional condition.
Nashville Christian School Has Been Targeted
The church and its ministries may have been the objective, according to the police. Investigators did not believe the killer intentionally targeted any one victim, Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake said, but the reason remained a mystery.
Hale pulled up to the building in a gray Honda Fit, according to surveillance footage, at about 9:54. Shortly after, Hale blew a hole in a glass side door, and the firing continued until police rushed the building and arrested the shooter next to a second-story window.
9:54 am
Surveillance footage reveals that Hale’s Honda Fit arrived and drove through the parking lot before the would-be murderer found a spot.
10:10 am
Michael Hill, a janitor, is the first victim when Hale fires through a side entryway, shattering the glass in the process. Authorities say the father of eight passed away as a result of his wounds. Hale walks in with a gun and donning a vest, backward hat, white T-shirt, and camo pants.
10:18 am
Hale can be seen walking the halls, going into the church office, and then exiting through a different door. According to police, the assailant used three firearms in the attack—two rifles and a pistol—and had acquired at least four additional weapons, which they later found in different locations.
10:20 am
Hale is captured on surveillance footage moving by a sign that reads “Children’s Ministry” as the lights are flickering in another hallway.
10:21 am
Although the bodycam recordings that the police published do not have time stamps, the timing can be estimated from official remarks.
The initial perspective captured on the video belongs to Officer Rex Engelbert. As he gets there, a female school staffer calms things down while he gets a rifle out of the back of his SUV.

Nashville School Shooting’s Motive Is Still Unknown
Authorities have found maps, drawings, and studies that appear to have been used in Hale’s shooting plan, but they have not yet determined a reason for the massacre.
Although authorities have stated that none of the six victims of the shooting were explicitly targeted, it appears the 28-year-old had intended to assault The Covenant School, where he had previously attended.
