The United States Government has issued the third Social Security payment to Americans who have enrolled in the program. Many people have already received the first two March payouts, but there will be one more during the month of March.
The previous two installments were made on March 8 and 15. Checks or payments for the third installment of the month are due on Wednesday, and many are curious about them.
When Will I Receive My Social Security Payment?
The Social Security Administration is in charge of determining when everyone’s checks are issued. The timing of these payments is determined by how long you’ve been a Social Security recipient and your date of birth.
The following is the March schedule (PDF) for when you should expect to receive your Social Security check and/or SSI money:
- March 1: SSI payments begin.
- Social Security payments begin on March 3 for those who receive both SSI and Social Security, or who have received Social Security since before May 1997.
- March 8: Social Security payments for anyone born between the first and tenth of the month.
- March 15: Social Security payments for anyone born between the 11th and 20th of any given month.
- March 22: Social Security payments for anyone born between the 21st and 31st of any given month.
- April SSI payments begin on March 31.

How Are The Dates Determined?
Payments are normally made on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays of each month by the Social Security Administration. The day you receive your cheque is determined by your birth date.
- If your birthday comes between the 1st and 10th of the month, you will receive your payment on the second Wednesday of the month.
- If your birthday comes between the 11th and 20th of the month, you will receive your payment on the third Wednesday of the month.
- If your birthday comes between the 21st and 31st of the month, you will receive your reward on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
