In just 30 days, artificial intelligence (AI) technology was able to create a treatment for an aggressive form of cancer and show that it can use medical records to forecast a patient’s chance of survival.
The innovations, which were carried out by several systems, demonstrate how the versatile technology may be used for a variety of purposes other than only producing text and images.
Using the AI drug discovery platform Pharma, researchers from the University of Toronto collaborated with Insilico Medical to create a potential therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
AI Technology For Cancer
HCC is a type of liver cancer, however, the AI identified a therapeutic route that had not previously been explored and created a new hit molecule that might bind to that target.
The technique was created by researchers from the University of British Columbia. Cancer can also predict survival rates, the model is 80% correct.

The group created and synthesized a potential medication to treat hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most prevalent form of primary liver cancer, using AlphaFold, an AI-powered protein structure database.
By only synthesizing seven chemicals and 30 days following target selection, the accomplishment was completed.
Although any possible medicine would still need to go through clinical trials, researchers found a more powerful hit molecule in a second round of AI-powered compound production.
