In 25 days, Social Security recipients of Supplemental Security Income will get the second of their two March payouts.
The second payment, which will replace the April 1 payment, will be delivered on March 31 to the same recipients who received the first payment on March 1. Individuals will receive $914 for every installment, or $1,828 in total, for the month of March.
Who Qualifies For March 25 Payments?
Couples who qualify receive payments of $1,371, while important individuals who live with SSI recipients and take care of them receive payments at a rate of $458. In March, both of those will increase by two.
On the first of every month, the Social Security Administration normally distributes SSI checks. The administration releases the checks on the final business day of the preceding month in months where the first falls on a holiday or weekend to ensure recipients receive the check by the first of the month, according to the agency.
According to the SSA, the average retiree payment will rise by around $1,827 in 2023 as a result of the COLA increase.
The typical payment for SSI users is about $656. These monthly sums are simply estimates, though. Instead of using the current benefit, the SSA calculates benefits on an individual basis each year using the Primary Insurance Amount (PIA).
SSI recipients receive their funds on either the first or last day of every month; if the first day falls on a weekend, payments are made on the last day of the month.
