The Georgia House of Representatives has advanced a bill that would provide anyone who submitted their 2021 and 2022 tax returns a stimulus check of up to $500. This extension of a tax benefit that was passed last year became effective when tax returns for 2020 and 2021 were filed.
The Georgia Senate will now decide whether or not millions of people will have between $250 and $500 added to their tax refund. With a 170 to 2 vote in favor of approving the law, it has a good chance of passing the upper chamber.
