The GOP House Judiciary Committee is probing an alleged brutal rape and murder of a 20-year-old Maryland woman by MS-13 gang member.
Reps. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Tom McClintock, R-Calif., stated in a letter to HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra on Tuesday that the HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is responsible for the care and placement of unaccompanied minors referred by US Customs and Border Protection.
Kayla Hamilton’s Death
The letter states that on January 15, police in Aberdeen, Maryland, detained a 17-year-old illegal alien and known MS-13 gang member from El Salvador in connection with the brutal attack and death of 20-year-old Maryland resident Kayla Hamilton.
According to press accounts, the suspect entered the United States in Rio Grande City, Texas, as an unaccompanied immigrant child and claimed a Frederick, Maryland resident as his aunt.
Jordan and McClintock stated The Biden administration’s open border policies have created weaknesses that criminal aliens and gang members exploit to the harm of American residents.

MS-13 Gang Member’s Victim Has Autism
According to local press sources, Hamilton was discovered raped and strangled to death in the mobile home she had recently moved into with her lover. Her mother, Tammy Nobles, said that despite her daughter’s autism, she was trying extremely hard to be independent.
Jordan and McClintock said, Pursuant to the Rules of the House of Representatives, the Judiciary Committee is authorized to oversee the Biden Administration’s enforcement of federal immigration laws.
They requested that Becerra provide all case information, including but not limited to the teen’s case file, family reunification packet, and any materials provided to HHS ORR by federal agencies like Customs and Border Patrol upon the referral of the 17-year-old, as well as any information provided to HHS ORR in response to its request for information from the referring agency.
In addition, they asked for a full description of the methods taken by HHS to establish and verify the suspect’s age, as well as any supporting documentation.
They want Becerra to explain how HHS personnel knew or were alerted of the suspect’s position as a known MS-13 gang member, as well as the source of that information and the date on which HHS first learned of it.
