According to his family, an 11-year-old child in Florida died from a flesh-eating bacterial infection after spraining his ankle.
Jesse Brown of Winter Park, Florida, twisted and maybe scratched his ankle while using a treadmill last month, according to his cousin Megan Brown.
What Happens To Jesse?
A few days later, the boy’s relatives discovered “splotchy, purply, red, almost like bruises” on his thigh, which turned out to be the first sign of strep-A.
Megan Brown stated that a few days after the event, the family realized the boy’s leg was covered in reddish-purple bruises, which were the first sign of group A strep.
According to Brown, the bacteria got into Jesse’s bloodstream and finally shut down his organs. According to his relative, Jesse was brought to a neighboring hospital for treatment and died a few days later.
She stated that the youngster was active and healthy previous to the treadmill event. Jesse excelled in BMX and motocross competitions, according to her.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, bacteria known as group A Streptococcus can cause a variety of deadly infections ranging from minor illnesses to life-threatening diseases, such as cellulitis, strep throat, Scarlet fever, impetigo, Rheumatic fever, Necrotizing fasciitis, and others.

What Causes Strep A?
Strep A infections are caused by Group A Streptococcus bacteria, which weaken your immune system, which is in charge of protecting your body from outside invaders.
The followings are the signs and symptoms of infection:
- Having difficulty swallowing
- Extensive headache
- Tiny red patches on your tongue’s roof
- stomach ache
- Neck and underarm rashes
- Skin irritation
- Sores
- Above the lesions, rusty yellow scabs grow.
- Diarrhea
- Fever
