Thanks to the Museums for All project, you can use your Texas Lone Star Card to gain free or reduced entry to hundreds of museums, aquariums, and zoos around the country for up to $3.00.
In Texas, SNAP benefits may be used at large supermarkets, retailers, and any store bearing the Lone Star Card emblem to buy the majority of foods, as well as seeds and plants for growing food.

SNAP Benefits Cannot Be Used To:
- Buy Tobacco
- Buy alcoholic drinks
- Buy things you can’t eat or drink
- Pay for food bills you owe
- Buy hot meals intended for immediate consumption
Texas is not one of the states that enable you to purchase hot meals cooked in restaurants through the SNAP Restaurant Meals Program (RMP).
Additionally, your Texas Lone Star Card can be used online. You can search for authorized shops online. At farmers’ markets, Fresh for Less mobile markets, and curbside delivery, SNAP recipients get double their benefits.
