Nearly 5 million bottles of Fabuloso multi-purpose cleaner have been recalled due to a “risk of bacterial contamination.”
According to the corporation, a preservative “was not introduced at the necessary amounts during manufacturing,” resulting in the growth of Pseudomonas species, a bacteria commonly found in soil and water. Colgate-Palmolive is the owner of Fabuloso (CL).
Suspected Bacterial Contamination of Fabuloso Products
This recall affects 4.9 million bottles of Fabuloso multipurpose cleaners labeled as lavender, lemon, the passion of fruits, spring fresh, and ocean scented and manufactured between December 14, 2022, and January 23, 2023.
Affected lots have code numbers ranging from 2348US78 to 2365US78, as well as 3001US78 to 3023US78. See a list of the recalled products’ UPC and lot codes.
The lot code is located on the back of the bottle, directly above or toward the top of the bottle, above the label. This recall does not affect any other Fabuloso products.
Pseudomonas microorganisms, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas fluorescens, may be present in the recalled products.
People exposed to germs who have weaker immune systems, external medical devices, or underlying lung problems are at risk of serious illness that may necessitate medical care.
Bacteria can enter the body by inhalation, the eyes, or a break in the skin. According to the recall notice, people with healthy immune systems are normally unaffected by the bacterium.

The recalled items will be refunded or replaced by Colgate-Palmolive. Affected customers must provide photographs of both the UPC code and the production (lot) code and complete this online form. After submitting images, the business recommends throwing of the product in its original container with household trash; do not empty the bottle.
