Stimulus check update: Homeowners to receive $1,500 payment in 20 days!

In New Jersey, homeowners have less than three weeks to apply for a state program that will provide them with up to $1,500.

The Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters initiative is now accepting applications from state homeowners and renters until February 28.

Stimulus Checks For Homeowners

According to the New Jersey Division of Taxation, payments under this program will begin in late spring, and benefits will be distributed via direct deposit or check.

The initiative will offer homeowners $1,500 if their yearly income is less than $150,000, and $1,000 if their annual income is more than $150,000. Renters, on the other hand, will not receive as much as homeowners, but they can still apply and receive a $450 payout if they earn $150,000 or less per year.

“For more than a million homeowners, ANCHOR’s direct relief will effectively undo years of property tax increases — even up to a decade’s worth. And for nearly 1 million renters, ANCHOR’s tenant relief will cushion rent hikes,” Murphy said.

In New Jersey, homeowners have less than three weeks to apply for a state program that will provide them with up to $1,500.

“This is the money going right back into the pockets of roughly 2 million New Jersey middle-class and working homeowners, seniors, and tenants — households in which well more than half of all of our residents live,” said New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D).

To apply for this program, homeowners will need an ANCHOR ID and a PIN, which they can obtain online or by calling 877-658-2972.

Renters should apply online, according to the Division of Taxation. Renters cannot apply for this program over the phone, and they are not provided an ID or PIN. Applicants for this program can also print an application from the internet and mail it in along with any other required documentation.

Residents of the state who apply for this program will get their payments no later than May. Payments will not be distributed to recipients in the order in which they were received.

More information about this program is available on the Division of Taxation’s website.
