Some states‘ refund and rebate payment periods will run into 2023 even though the majority of the formal stimulus checks that restored funds to Americans’ bank accounts as a kind of COVID-19 or inflation relief has ceased.

Delaware
Adult Delaware citizens who filed a personal income tax return in 2020 and are 18 years or older should be eligible for a $300 rebate through the state’s Relief Rebate program. Other adult Delaware residents who submitted tax returns for 2021 may also be eligible.
Illinois
In 2022, Illinois also provided two tax reimbursements, one for income taxes and the other for property taxes. Residents of Illinois who filed a 2021 Illinois tax return with an adjusted gross income of less than $200,000 for single filers and less than $400,000 for joint filers were eligible for the income tax rebate.
To qualify for the property tax rebate, Illinois residents were required to have paid Illinois property taxes 2021 on their primary residence in 2020, and to have an adjusted gross income on their 2021 Illinois tax return of $250,000 or less for individuals and $500,000 or less for joint filers. The payments will continue through 2023, having begun in September 2022.
New Jersey
The Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) program continues to provide property tax refunds to New Jersey citizens. Homeowners may receive $1,000 or $1,500, whereas renters may receive up to $450.
The filing deadline for the year 2023 is January 31, 2023. The ANCHOR program application must be filed with the state’s Division of Taxation.
Pennsylvania
Since 1971, Pennsylvania has maintained a program that offers reimbursement on property taxes or rent paid by seniors. Those qualified for extra refunds can get up to $975 in addition to the maximum basic rebate of $650.
The annual income cap is $35,000 for homeowners and $15,000 for renters, excluding half of Social Security income. To obtain funding, a request must be submitted to the state’s Department of Revenue by December 31, 2023.
Colorado
In May 2022, Governor Jared Polis of Colorado enacted the Colorado Cash Back Act, which gave residents a generous tax rebate.
Individuals will earn $750, while married couples will receive $1,500 stimulus checks. If you have not yet received your tax rebate, you can do so until the spring of 2023. To be eligible, you must have filed your state tax return by October 17, 2022.
Virginia
Virginia issued bonus tax refunds of $250 for individuals and $500 for married couples who qualified.
Despite the fact that the majority of checks were made out in September, it is likely that some payments will still be mailed out in early 2023 to people who submitted their applications late.
South Carolina
Residents of South Carolina who file a 2021 South Carolina income tax return before February 15, 2023, and have a tax liability are eligible for a tax rebate.
The rebates have a maximum value of $800 and are based on tax liability in 2021 minus credits.
Depending on when you filed your tax return, South Carolina has divided the rebates into two periods due to Hurricane Ian. Those who filed their taxes before October 17, 2022, should have already gotten their refund.
Individuals who submit after October 17, 2022, and before February 15, 2023, will receive their refunds by March 31, 2023.
New Mexico
New Mexico entered the two tax rebates club for its inhabitants in 2022, and according to a recent news article, the state may be contemplating a third round for 2023, although this has not yet been decided.
The initial $500 tax rebate is available to married couples filing joint returns, heads of household, and surviving spouses with 2012 incomes of less than $150,000, as well as to single filers and married people filing separately with incomes of less than $75,000.
To receive it, everyone must have filed a 2021 New Mexico tax return, and no one can claim you as a dependent.
The second tax rebate offers $1,000 to joint filers, heads of household, and surviving spouses, and $500 to single filers and married residents filing separately.
If your return is filed by May 23, 2023, you will continue to receive payments from the state of New Mexico well into 2023, beginning in the summer of 2022.
