The purpose of these payments of up to $600 is to aid residents in coping with the high inflation.

Each of the four communities receiving this funding comes from a different state and is subject to a unique set of eligibility standards.

3 States Will Receive Additional Funds
In December, the city of Chelsea, Massachusetts, launched the second phase of its universal basic income experiment. Approximately 700 area households will each get $400.
This is the continuation of the first phase, during which about 2,000 households received monthly payments between November 2020 and August 2021.
The application deadline for this payment is Friday, January 6 at midnight. In addition, California offers payments of $400
The city of Alexandria, Virginia, will begin disbursing payments of $400 per year for two years beginning in February. This municipality is allotting money through the Recurring Income for Success and Equity initiative.
170 winners will be selected for an effort that will allow them to spend the money as they see fit. Some individuals may be entitled to a $700 tax refund if they begin receiving payments in January.
