In 2023, there will be several modifications that may affect those who receive SNAP benefits.
The USDA reports that the temporary increase in SNAP benefits, known as emergency allotments, implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic will end nationwide in 2023.

Additionally, households receiving both SNAP and Social Security benefits will see a reduction in their SNAP benefits due to the significant cost-of-living adjustment to Social Security benefits that took effect on January 1.

According to Ohio’s extension approval for January 2023, 673,063 households will receive the emergency allocation at a cost of more than $126 million.
Depending on the final digit of your case number, benefits are loaded onto Ohio Direction Cards between the second and twentieth of each month. The January 2023 deposit schedule is as follows:

Cards are accepted wherever the Ohio Direction Card sticker is displayed, including the majority of grocery stores and other retailers. Additionally, you can use your SNAP EBT at participating farmer’s markets to buy fresh produce.
