Earlier today, information regarding the primary and Samsung-exclusive color options for the Galaxy S23 was revealed. Now that we know for sure what RAM and storage options Samsung will provide with its future high-end smartphones.
Samsung will offer the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ in two memory configurations: 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 8GB RAM + 512GB storage, according to tipper Ahmed Qwaider.
Samsung’s Leaked Details
The model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage will be the most widely accessible. Four different configurations of the Galaxy S23 Ultra are reportedly offered: 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 512GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 1TB storage. The Galaxy S23 Ultra with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage will be the model that sells the most.
With the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung is still not totally upgrading the default storage. According to reports, only a small number of nations will sell the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ in 128GB configurations.

Enhance RAM, Storage
With its Galaxy S23 series, Samsung is enhancing the RAM and storage speeds. LPDDR5X RAM, which is 50% quicker than LPDDR5 RAM utilized in the Galaxy S22, will be available in the devices.
With its forthcoming phones, the South Korean company is also accelerating storage speeds. UFS 4.0 storage, with 4,200Mbps sequential read and up to 2,800Mbps sequential write speeds, will be available in the Galaxy S23 series.

Options For Configuration
Both the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus have internal storage options of 128GB or 256GB. The Galaxy S22 Ultra offers the most configuration possibilities of all, with storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB.
According to this most recent leak, all three phones will lose their 128GB entry-level choice, and no additional options will be offered. The 2022 phones would also be compatible with 8GB of RAM (with 12GB being an option on the Ultra).
Samsung is therefore lowering the number of varieties that will be available for the series this year, even if this is essentially an upgrade and one that may come for free if the starting costs of the Galaxy S23 phones are the same as those of its predecessors.
Internal Storage
Internal storage choices may not be as crucial as they previously were now that so many apps use streaming technologies; after all, Netflix, Spotify, and the rest get all their information from the cloud rather than your real smartphone.
However, greater storage space is still preferable, not least so that apps like Netflix and Spotify may cache video and audio offline for times when you’re not connected to the internet. Then there are podcasts, your own images and videos, apps, and games that are getting bigger and more complicated.
In conclusion, even though many new phones still start at 128GB, it’s beginning to feel a little low for a starting configuration. Although it might take some time to catch up given that Apple was still selling 64GB in its most current iPhone model, the 12, this year may mark the year when 256GB and higher become the standard.
We long for the day when phones included a memory card port so that owners could add more capacity as needed. Although that option has now mostly vanished, the Galaxy S23 will benefit from an increase to 256GB, provided the price is reasonable.
