Since COVID-19 vaccines become accessible for the first time in late 2020, vaccine skeptics have manipulated public health data to claim that the vaccines are actually detrimental to recipients.
One such allegation appears in an article released on November 24 by The Expose, a website that has publicized numerous false claims about COVID-19 vaccinations.
COVID-19 Vaccines Rumors Continue Spreading Online
The article’s headline reads, Secret CDC Report reveals at least 1.1 Million Americans have Died Suddenly since the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out, and another Government Report proves the COVID-19 Vaccines are to blame.
According to the social media analytics company CrowdTangle, the article was shared over 700 times on Facebook within a month.
However, the article is inaccurate. The cited data source does not list any cause for the claimed extra deaths in the United States. According to experts, COVID-19 infections account for the majority of these deaths.
The article in Expose is based on statistics acquired by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development from publicly available CDC files indicating that during the COVID-19 pandemic, there were more than one million extra deaths.
The paper compares the average weekly death rate from 2015-2019 to the time between December 2020, when vaccines were first approved in the United States, and September 25, 2022. It indicates 1,1 million more fatalities than projected historically.
According to Miguel Gorman, a representative for the organization that produces and analyzes COVID-19 statistics, there is no publicly available evidence from the CDC or anywhere indicating that these deaths were the result of COVID-19 vaccines.

Is The Vaccine Against COVID-19 Deadly?
Furthermore, it is now officially indefensible to claim that COVID-19 injections do not kill people, as confirmed by official data published by the UK government.
This data demonstrates that in every age group, mortality rates per 100,000 are lowest among the unvaccinated and highest among the vaccinated.
The data was released in July by the United Kingdom’s Office of National Statistics (ONS) in a report titled Deaths by Vaccination Status, England, 1 January 2021 to 31 May 2022, which may be viewed on the ONS website.
Using data collected from the ONS dataset, the following two graphs illustrate the monthly age-standardized mortality rates for non-COVID-19 deaths in England by vaccination status.
