Tesla is now being accused by the plaintiffs’ attorneys of firing two Californian employees who were a part of a group that submitted letters criticizing Elon Musk’s conduct on Twitter and his position in the official mandate.
Towards the end of May, Tesla instituted a policy mandating that all employees show up to work, a mandate that was challenged in an early draft of a letter to Tesla’s top executives. Another employee alleged that Musk’s tweets violated the company’s zero-tolerance harassment policy.
Tesla Staff Accused of Raising Issues Against Elon Musk
Two workers were laid off in June. One had earned a pay increase the previous month. At the same time, the other was told that their conversations amounted to an attack on the company, according to documents filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
Even though neither of the draft letters was sent internally, the two workers said they were fired because they brought up the issues.
This lawsuit is another evidence that a Musk-owned company has been accused of taking revenge against workers who take part in lawful collective action to improve working conditions.
Protected concerted activities include things like employees talking to each other to build support for a shared cause.
Following allegations of sexual harassment by SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, eight former employees say they were unlawfully fired earlier this year.
The workers who filed a complaint with the NLRB also retained the same San Francisco law firm representing the former Tesla employees.

Fired SpaceX Employees
In June, several employees of SpaceX signed an open letter criticizing Musk’s behavior on Twitter, calling it embarrassing and a distraction for the firm.
A letter claiming that SpaceX is violating its famous No Asshole and zero tolerance for sexual harassment policy was posted on SpaceX’s internal Microsoft Teams channel on June 15.
Gwynne Shotwell, president, and chief operating officer of SpaceX, received the email and reportedly expressed concern that it made colleagues feel uncomfortable, intimidated, bullied, and/or outraged.
Employees are warned that sending unsolicited emails and taking part in illegal surveys are prohibited on the job. She claims the letter pressured other employees to sign something against their morals.
