Former President Donald Trump has been using Truth Social since he was banned from Twitter a year ago to hint at a significant event.
Some believed Trump might reveal his vice presidential pick for the 2024 election, or some other crucial element of his campaign. Even announcing an NFT collection with the president’s likeness proved to be a letdown.
Trump NFT Collections
OpenSea data shows that all 45,000 NFTs sold out in around 12 hours despite receiving widespread ridicule from Trump supporters and adversaries.
That would amount to $4.45 million if each donation was $99. As an added bonus, the designers get 10% of all collection sales made through secondary marketplaces like OpenSea.
A total of $5.2M (4,442 ether) has been traded for the cards on OpenSea, yielding $520,000 for the designers.
The collection has done well on the secondary market since NFT traders never pass up a good speculation opportunity. More than six times their original asking price of $99, even the cheapest Donald Trump Trading Card NFTs may now be purchased for almost $650.

Some online users hypothesized that his NFT sales were a means of raising money for the lawsuits in which he is currently involved.
According to the NFTs’ official website, the money would not be used to support his bid for the presidency. As said, these DTC are completely apolitical and have nothing to do with any political campaign. It goes on to say that neither Donald J. Trump nor anybody associated with The Trump Organization or CIC Digital LLC owns, manages, or controls NFT INT LLC.
The Trumps have considered NFT sales in the past. As Bloomberg reported in February, a wallet associated with the artist who created the portrait of Melania Trump paid the estimated $180,000 asking price for the painting. MelaniaTrump had previously stated that the purchase was made by a third party.
