Moderna criticizes Pfizer of hacking its mRna technology

Moderna is suing Pfizer and BioNTech for allegedly violating its intellectual property rights and stealing the company’s ground-breaking technology.

Two of the largest COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers in the world are involved in a massive $104 billion legal dispute.

Moderna vs. Pfizer

In August, Moderna filed its first lawsuit against Pfizer, alleging that the pharmaceutical giant had violated its rights under three patents covering developments that the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based business claimed to have invented before the COVID-19 pandemic.

In Germany, Moderna has also brought a similar lawsuit against Pfizer and BioNTech. The US patent battles involving vaccinations are a problem for all three corporations.

According to corporate filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine earned the New York-based company more than $26.4 billion in the first nine months of 2022, while Moderna’s COVID vaccine earned more than $13.5 billion during the same period

Two of the largest Covid vaccine manufacturers in the world are involved in a massive $104 billion legal dispute.

Pfizer’s COVID-19 shot, first discovered in the 1960s, was the first mRNA product to receive full FDA approval in the United States.

This mRNA is transported into the human body, where it is interpreted by cells as instructions to produce that viral protein, leading to the production of some of the virus’ components. Since these proteins are solitary, they cannot join together to form a virus.

Additionally, a protein that triggers an immune response is taught to body cells by the mRNA COVID-19 vaccination.

In order for the body to detect and successfully combat the virus if it is subsequently exposed to it, the immune system produces antibodies.
