Covid-19 Is Not Yet Over: CDC Reveals Spike in Deaths, New Cases

At least 4,500 deaths have been reported throughout at least 44 states from high or very high flu activity, in addition to reports of Covid-19.

Reports on the tragic incident, in which at least 14 children died, were released by the CDC.

States Report Very High Flu Cases

Emergency departments are soon filling up as a result of the crisis, and health officials are starting to see individuals who have both the flu and Covid-19. RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus, cases in children are also on the rise.

The CDC describes RSV as a typical respiratory virus that frequently causes mild, cold-like symptoms. It was also mentioned that it usually took a week for RSV patients to recover.

RSV can be dangerous for infants and elderly people, according to the CDC. For kids under a year old, RSV is also the most frequent cause of bronchitis and pneumonia.

The current condition occurs before the typical winter flu season, which is predicted to begin in December or January. The rise of Covid-19 and other viruses, along with other reasons, have contributed to this year’s difficulties.

Over the previous week, high or very high flu activity has been reported in 44 states. Experts stress that Thanksgiving dinners and other crowded airports were where the crisis was at its worst.

The CDC projects that at least 4,500 deaths and 78,000 hospital admissions have been reported so far this season. At least 14 of the deceased were youngsters, which just added to the tragedy.

People claim that the issue with the flu and RSV is that the illness can make emergency departments more constrained. This has an impact on emergency rooms that are already dealing with other crises like heart attacks or strokes.

These rooms are impacted since the authorities still need to exercise caution while regulating transmission. Patients and staff working in emergency rooms for other situations run the risk of being impacted if control is not exercised.
