Since the winning numbers were announced, a Powerball ticket with the potential to win a $92.2 million jackpot has gone unclaimed for almost a week.
Last Saturday, a ticket with the potentially life-changing numbers 7, 28, 62, 63, and 64 was purchased in northeast Kansas.
Kansas Lottery Winner Has Not Claimed Powerball Prize
The Powerball winning numbers were drawn from a retailer in one of Kansas’ 21 northeastern counties, according to the Kansas Lottery, whose winner has not yet come forward.
The counties in question are Atchison, Brown, Marshall, Nemaha, Doniphan, Riley, Pottawatomie, Jackson, Geary, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Johnson, Osage, Douglas, Franklin, Shawnee, Miami, Morris, Northern Lyon County, Wabaunsee, and Wyandotte.
The winning ticket owner has the option of taking the whole $92.2 million in yearly installments over 30 years or getting the cash value of $47.3 million in one lump settlement.
The lucky person can keep their identity a secret when accepting the big award. According to Kansas’ lottery division, the winning ticket is only one of many unclaimed awards in the state. The unclaimed rewards range in value from a few thousand to over $50,000, and recipients have a full year to collect their awards.
Similarly, time is running out for an Indiana lottery player who won the $2 million Powerball on June 18. According to reports, the ticket will expire on December 15. It was offered for sale at the Howard County McClure Oil gas station.
The winning numbers with the Powerball 25 are 10-19-40-45-58. Another Pennsylvania lottery player didn’t know that the $1.65 million reward was set to expire when they purchased the winning Cash 5 ticket from the drawing held in December.
The successful numbers in the draw on December 16, 2021, were 8, 12, 18, 31, and 35. This year’s prizes must be claimed by December 16, or they will be returned to the state. The winning ticket was purchased at Jak Petroleum Company LLC in Armstrong County.
According to reports, lottery awards that have expired or have not been claimed are still held in the Lottery Fund and are used to fund initiatives for senior residents.
