Missed Claiming Child Tax Credit Payment
Don’t panic if you didn’t make a claim by one of the aforementioned dates for any unclaimed stimulus funds or child tax credit payments. Even if you won’t get the money this year, you can still write it off when you file your taxes in 2023.

If you submitted your taxes this year but have not yet received your qualifying stimulus check or child tax credit monies, there are a couple more considerations that might be in play.
- You lack a functioning bank account.
- Before, you had never filed.
- You live in a house with mixed status.
- You haven’t changed your address with USPS or the IRS.

- You have limited or no internet connectivity.
If none of these answers apply to you, it could be time to send Form 3911 or give the IRS a call at 800-919-9835 to request a payment trace.
