D.H. Peligro, Drummer With Dead Kennedys and Rhcp, Dies at 63.

D.H. Peligro, whose true name was Darren Henley, the drummer, passed away on Friday at his home in Los Angeles. The head injury that caused his death was attributed by the police to an accident that occurred prior to the fall.

After joining The Dead Kennedys in February 1981, Peligro made an appearance on the extended play (EP) titled “In God We Trust,” which was issued in December 1981.

In addition to that, he would provide vocals for the studio albums Plastic Surgery Disaster, Frankenchrist, and Bedtime for Democracy. Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death is a collection of singles and rarities, and he appeared in that as well.

D.H. Peligro, drummer with Dead Kennedys and RHCP, dies at 63.

East Bay Ray, a guitarist who played with Peligro, expressed his sorrow over the passing of the band member on Facebook. “I am heartbroken. Yesterday, October 28th, D.H. Peligro passed away while he was at home in Los Angeles. Accidentally falling on his head is what ultimately caused his death.

The arrangements are now being worked out, and details will be shared in the next few days. We were musically-inclined siblings. We are grateful for your support and the kind words you have shared.

In December of 1986, the Dead Kennedys disbanded, and Peligro went on to have a brief stint as a replacement for Jack Irons in the band the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

In 1988, Peligro replaced Jack Irons as the drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers after joining the band. Although he was involved in the writing of several songs for the band’s record Mother’s Milk, he was not a performer on the album.

Peligro remained a member of the band even after it went through a number of different frontmen before the Dead Kennedys got back together in the 2000s. In 2008, he went on leave, but he came back the next year.

In addition to having his own solo career as a frontman with three albums to his name, Peligro was a member of a number of other punk bands during his time in the scene. The American Independent Music Awards selected Sum of Our Surroundings as the best rock album of the year. This makes it the most notable of those three albums.
