The Storyline
Season 2 would have probably been about how Sam’s becoming king changed the way people interact with each other. Her rise to power at the end of the show had a shady feel to it, and it’s safe to say that her rule wouldn’t have been kind and fair.
In terms of character development, the season would have had to focus on Josh realizing that his ideas about who Sam is are outdated and sexist—he only saw her as a damsel in distress, not as her own person, as she put it. If Josh wants to live through the end of the world, he will have to learn faster and better.

Will Daybreak Be Revived?
Netflix shows that have been canceled aren’t likely to ever come back from the dead. If the popular comedy show Santa Clarita Diet doesn’t come back, we don’t think Netflix will ever come back to Daybreak for more shows.
There is a chance that another network will buy the series, but it is very unlikely that another network will pick up a show that has been canceled. It only worked for One Day at a Time because Sony is in charge of making the show and was able to bring it back somewhere else.
