So, when will the next season come out? How does the story go? Who will play the roles? Keep reading to get more information.
The Plot of Season 2
Since Season 1 is still going on, there’s no way to know where “Star Trek: Prodigy” will go in its second season. As long as the show doesn’t change its premise too much, it’s probably safe to say that the U.S.S. Protostar will keep going from the faraway Delta Quadrant to the Alpha Quadrant.

Since most of the most famous “Star Trek” civilizations live in the Alpha and Beta quadrants, it’s likely that the main characters will meet more and more familiar faces as their journey goes on. For example, they might meet humans, Romulans, Klingons, and other well-known species.
Because the show starts where no one has gone before and works its way back, you can probably expect the characters to run into a lot of classic “Star Trek” civilizations as their journey goes on.
Brett Gray is back as Dal, Ella Purnell is back as Gwyn, Angus Imrie is back as Zero, Rylee Alazraqui is back as Rok-Tahk, Jason Mantzoukas is back as Jankom Pog, and Dee Bradley Baker is back as Murf. Plus, Janeway should be played again by the great Kate Mulgrew.
Season 2 Release Date
According to droidjournal, Since the midseason finale of Season 1 is on November 18 and the back half of the ten-episode season starts on January 6, 2022, the season won’t end until February 2022. Since Season 2 is said to come out at some point in 2022, it should start airing toward the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023.
The creators have confirmed that there will be 20 episodes in the new season. It is made by Secret Hideout, Roddenberry Entertainment, and Brothers Hageman Productions, along with CBS Eye Animation Productions and Nickelodeon Animation Studio.

Fans of Voyager loved Prodigy because not only did Mulgrew return to voice Janeway, but Robert Beltran also returned to voice Chakotay. With what was revealed at the end of the mid-season finale, it seems likely that the fan-favorite character will come back as the crew of the Protostar continues to travel through the galaxy.
