The White Lotus Season 3: White Lotus’ Creator Mike White Hints at Season 3!

The White Lotus, HBO’s social satire set at a fancy Hawaiian resort with a cast of big names, was one of the most talked-about shows of last summer.

Even though the end of the season wraps things up pretty well, that doesn’t mean there won’t be more episodes of the popular show or that some of the characters won’t come back for another chapter. In fact, HBO has already said that The White Lotus will have a second season, but it will look very different from the first six episodes.

The show’s creator, Mike White, recently won two Emmys for the first season of the show, for best directing and best writing. White is planning for season two to have more dark humor, but he will keep the show going as an anthology with new characters and a new place. Here, we go over everything we know about the second season of The White Lotus.

HBO Officially Renewed the White Lotus for Season Two

HBO announced that there would be a second part of The White Lotus before the season one finale aired.

In a press release, HBO’s Executive Vice President of Programming, Francesca Orsi, said, “Mike White has once again made an HBO show that is the talk of the town. We were excited to hear where he wanted to go after this epic chapter ended in Hawaii, and we can’t wait to go wherever he goes.

The second season will be called White Lotus: Sicily. It comes after the first season, which was praised by critics and was nominated for 20 Emmys, including eight in the acting categories. Creator Mike White told Vulture that season two will focus less on the power dynamics between guests and employees and more on the myths of masculinity and femininity and sexual jealousy. White says that season two is “a bedroom farce with teeth.

In a later interview with Entertainment Weekly, White said, “From an American point of view, the mythology of Sicily is the archetypal sexual politics and role-playing that you associate with things like opera, the mafia, and Italian romance. I felt like it should be more about men and women, relationships, adultery, and have an operatic feel, so I changed it.”

In the first scene, there will be a new murder mystery, just like in the first season. However, that is the only thing the two seasons have in common.

The White Lotus’ Creator Mike White Hints At Season 3

Even on the red carpet for Season 2 of The White Lotus on HBO, creator Mike White was already thinking about Season 3.

White told Deadline, “We just gave the network our last episode yesterday, so it’s hard to think about the next race.” “But if we did, I think it’d be fun to maybe go to a whole different continent. We went to Europe, and maybe next time we’ll go to Asia or somewhere crazy like that. That would be fun.

If that happens, Jennifer Coolidge, who has been in the show before, might be on board.

Jennifer is my friend, and in the first season, everyone loved her. I thought, “I can’t go to Italy without Jennifer,” and maybe that’s still true. Like, you might not be able to go to Japan without Jennifer. We’ve already worked with a lot of fun actors, so it just depends on who’s available.”

The White Lotus started its second season in August. The first season was a hit with both critics and viewers. In the second season, a different group of vacationers plans to stay at an Italian White Lotus property, and the show follows them as they do so. Coolidge is one of the few people who were in The White Lotus Vol. 1 from the beginning. 1 to appear in Season 2, which takes place in Sicily.

Aubrey Plaza, Will Sharpe, Sabrina Impacciatore, Theo James, Meghann Fahy, F. Murray Abraham, Adam DiMarco, Tom Hollander, Michael Imperioli, Haley Lu Richardson, Leo Woodall, Beatrice Grannó, and Simona Tabasco are some of the actors who will be joining the cast in Season 2. Season 2’s executive producers are White, David Bernad, and Mark Kamine.

The Next Season Will Feature a New Cast

Even though The White Lotus is coming back, viewers won’t go back to the same resort in Hawaii. The show will go on with a new group of travelers, a new staff, and a hotel in a different part of the world. HBO said, “The next chapter of The White Lotus will leave Hawaii and follow a different group of vacationers as they fly to another White Lotus property and move in with the people who live there for a while.

Wil Sharpe and Aubrey Plaza were the first actors to be named for season two of The White Lotus. They will play Harper and Ethan Spiller, who is married. Cameron and Daphne Babcock, a married couple on vacation with the Spillers, will be played by Meghann Fahy and Theo James. Plaza says, “Most of my story is its own story.

I play a woman who is married, and we’re on vacation with another couple. Our story is about our little group of four, but there are times when some of the characters overlap, like in the first season.

The rest of the cast is also very strong. The Hollywood Reporter says that F. Murray Abraham will play Bert Di Grasso, an old man who travels with his son Dominic (Michael Imperioli) and grandson Albie (Adam DiMarco). Tom Hollander will play English ex-pat Quentin, and Haley Lu Richardson will play Portia, a young woman whose boss is taking her on a trip.

In March 2022, when filming was already going on, HBO announced that three Italian actors would join the cast. Valentina, the manager of the White Lotus resort, will be played by Sabrina Impacciatore. Mia and Lucia, two Italian girls who hang out at the Sicily hotel, will be played by Beatrice Grannó and Simona Tabasco.

“I think they wanted a character who would be ruder than any Italian,” Impacciatore says of her character Valentina. “In Italy, we are more direct. We say exactly what’s on our minds.”
