In the love drama directed by Luca Guadagnino in 2017, “Call Me by Your Name,” Timothée Chalamet captivated audiences all over the world.
However, the actor’s most recent coming-of-age drama, which was directed once again by Guadagnino, is very different from the peaches and sun-drenched Italian landscapes that were featured in the director’s earlier films.
Bones and All is a story about Maren (Taylor Russell), a young nomad who falls in love with a fellow disenfranchised drifter named Lee (Timothée Chalamet).

Guadagnino, who directed the movie, released a statement in which he discussed it, saying, “There is something about the disenfranchised, about people living on the margins of society, that I am drawn toward and touched by. I want to see where the possibilities lie for them, enmeshed within the impossibility they face.”
He continued by saying, “The movie is for me a meditation on who I am and how I might overcome what I feel, particularly if it is something I cannot control in myself. And last, and most significantly, when will I be able to discover myself in the gaze of the other?”
The director recently dispelled rumors that his next cannibalism romance was inspired by the charges made against Armie Hammer, the star of Call Me by Your Name, who was believed to have sent cannibalistic messages and was accused of abuse earlier in 2021.
Guadagnino recently stated, while teaching a masterclass at the Zurich Film Festival, that “Any association with this kind of innuendo and silliness is absurd.” [Citation needed]

On November 23, 2022, audiences in the United States will be able to see Bones and All in theatres. There is currently no set date for the album’s release in the UK.

“Of course, there’s the literal part of it being a movie about cannibal lovers, which is extreme in many ways, but I think the more extreme aspect of the movie is the intensity of the feelings that these people go through — the impossibility of love,” the author of the review said.
Previously, while discussing the subject of cannibalism in the film during a masterclass at the Zurich Film Festival (via Variety), Guadagnino mentioned that in order to make the sequence as realistic as possible, he consulted with actual scientists.
The director of the film explained their approach to the subject of cannibalism by saying, “When it came to the topic of cannibalism, we treated it quite matter-of-factly.”
He continued by saying, “Several pathologists gave us solutions on how you might do a bite on the body of someone who has just passed away, for instance.” We gained knowledge that was useful. It requires a significant amount of work to make a hole in the skin. Someone was curious as to whether or not we would require [more developed] jaw muscles, but Americans are like that anyhow. It’s because you’ve been chewing gum.”
Bones and All Cast
If you want to tell such a gripping tale, you’re going to need the help of some formidable actors. To our great relief, Guadagno did exactly that. While Chalamet will play the role of Lee, Russell will take on the role of Maren.
A recent report by Deadline disclosed that Mark Rylance will play the pivotal role of Sully, a figure with comparable cravings to consume human flesh and that André Holland will take on the role of Maren’s father, who has not yet been given a name.

In addition to Michael Stuhlbarg and Jessica Harper, the film will also include Chloe Sevigny, David Gordon Green, Anna Cobb, Francesca Scorsese, and Jake Horowitz in acting roles. During the production of Guadagno’s version of “Suspiria” in 2018, Harper collaborated with Guadagno, and both Chloe Sevigny and Martin Scorsese had roles in “We Are Who We Are.”
Arsene Khachaturian served as the film’s cinematographer, and Marco Costa marked his fourth time working with Guadagnino in the editor’s chair. Screenwriter David Kajganich, who contributed the script to Guadagnino’s 2015 film “A Bigger Splash,” joined Guadagnino on the crew side.
“A Bigger Splash” was Guadagnino’s directorial debut. The film’s score will also be composed by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who have won multiple Academy Awards between them.
