Pixar is making Cars on the Road, a new computer-animated series for Disney+ that is based on the Cars franchise. In the first Cars movie, Lightning McQueen was in a race for the Piston Cup Championship against The King and Chick Hicks.
When he falls out of his trailer, he gets lost in a town called Radiator Springs. Sally, Doc Hudson, and Mater, who live there, help him find his way home. When it’s time for him to go, he realizes that he belongs in Radiator Springs.
Due to the success of Cars, there have been three sequels and two spin-offs: Fire and Rescue: Planes and Planes. Steve Purcell, Bobby Podesta, and Brian Fee, who all worked on the first Cars movies, are in charge of Cars on the Road. The movie continues the story of the cars that can talk.
Marc Sondheimer is producing, and he has worked on other Pixar projects like the Oscar-winning movie Coco. Jake Monaco wrote the music for the show. He also did the music for Flora & Ulysses and The Stinky & Dirty Show.
In the nine episodes of the show, Lightning McQueen and Mater, the main characters from the 2006 movie, hit the road. The show will start in 2020, and based on what we know about the Cars movies, we can expect to go on an epic road trip with a great cast that will be full of fun, adventure, and unexpected turns.
Cars on the Road Release Date
Fans do not have long to wait for this nine-episode series, as Cars on the Road will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+ on September 8, 2022.

This means that fans will not have to wait very long at all. There is no need to worry about being left hanging on a cliffhanger each week because all nine episodes will be broadcast simultaneously. This is even better news. Because of this, the series is ideal for watching all at once.
Cars on the Road Plot
Get ready to hit the road because we are going to be traveling across the country. The story follows the Radiator Springs group as they are gathered at Flo’s V8 Cafe when Mater says that wedding bells are ringing and that he will be out of town because his sister is getting married.

The wedding will take place in a different city. McQueen comes up with the wonderful and thrilling suggestion that he joins, and so the two of them set out on their wacky adventure. Along the trip, they stop at a variety of attractions, such as the world’s largest lug nut and even a colossal dinosaur constructed entirely out of components from automobiles.
As the viewers accompany them on their journey throughout the country, the experience would not be complete until they made new friends and confronted old adversaries along the way.
The adventure in Cars on the Road will be exhilarating and filled with adrenaline, and there will be enough of unpredictability to keep us captivated. The great camaraderie that McQueen and Mater share, not to mention the wild and exciting ideas that they come up with, are unbeatable.
The remaining aspects of the story are being kept under wraps for the time being, but audiences are encouraged to use their imaginations to consider the myriad of things that could occur (and go wrong) on a road trip across the country.
However, the trailer for the film is now released, and it shows McQueen driving through the desert while challenging Mater to a race. This provides us with a little bit more of a hint about what to expect.
Cars on the Road Cast
In the upcoming film Cars 2, Owen Wilson will reprise his role as Lightning McQueen, a professional race vehicle that participates in both the Piston Cup and the World Grand Prix.

McQueen has a successful racing career up to the conclusion of Cars 3 when he decided to hang up his helmet and become a teacher for the next generation of race cars. Larry the Cable Guy reprises his role as Mater, a native tow truck with origins in Radiator Springs, and reprises his role alongside Wilson.
In the first Cars movie, McQueen doesn’t get along with Mater at first, but over the course of the series, they end up being the best of friends.
In addition, Cars on the Road includes fan favorites from previous films, such as Sally Carrera, who plays the role of the town attorney, and McQueen’s love interest (Bonnie Hunt). Cheech Marin makes his triumphant comeback to the role of Ramone, the slick lowrider who never settles on a single paint job.
You can also anticipate seeing Lloyd Sherr’s character, Fillmore, the hippy Volkswagen. He will play the role. In addition to this, the show adds new vehicles to the mix, such as the monster truck Ivy, whose voice is provided by Quinta Brunson, who plays Abbott Elementary on ABC.
Cars on the Road Trailer
Pixar put out the trailer for Cars on the Road on August 1, 2022. The trailer starts off with our favorite racecar, Lightning McQueen, doing what he does best: drifting in the desert outside of Radiator Springs, a cute town. The trailer then shows Lightning McQueen and his friend Mater, who drives a tow truck, driving side by side.
McQueen is trying to get Mater to race him. Mater, being as cheeky as he is, turns down the challenge, but then starts to speed up and get a head start.
Soon, we’ll see our favorite people from Radiator Springs getting together at Flo’s V8 Cafe. Mater says that he won’t be in town for a while because he has to go to his sister’s wedding. McQueen says that he should come along.
We see montages of the two of them hitting the road and making quick stops at different attractions, like the World’s Largest Lugnut and a live dinosaur made out of car parts. Cars on the Road is an exciting trip where the characters meet new friends (and maybe enemies) along the way.
They go to strange places and do funny things on the spot. But regardless of where they end up, this good old-fashioned road trip shows what makes this series so fun and exciting: McQueen and Mater’s friendship.
