Orphan Black, a science fiction television series, came to an end in 2017, although the narrative of the planet depicted in the show is not yet finished.

Actress Keeley Hawes, who has been nominated for a BAFTA three times, has reportedly agreed to star in the upcoming season of Orphan Black: Echoes on AMC.

In the second instalment of the series, which is scheduled to premiere in 2023, Hawes will co-star with Krysten Ritter.

The first season of the original series Orphan Black aired in 2013 and lasted for a total of five seasons. It told the story of a young lady who finds herself at the centre of a conspiracy after learning that she is one of the numerous clones that are dispersed across the world.

It is presently unknown what the storyline of Orphan Black: Echoes will entail, however it is speculated that it will take place in the not-too-distant future and will follow a group of women whose lives will become interwoven as the secret behind their identities begins to be revealed.

The role that Hawes will play in the drama will be that of a researcher who “finds herself at war with her own moral code when circumstances compel her to make an unthinkable option.”
