Have you ever found yourself wondering whether or not Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong had more going on between them behind the scenes of Boy Meets World?
The legendary actress, who is now 41 years old, made a startling confession during some amusing new comments on her Pod Meets World podcast (via TooFab), which also included co-star Will Friedle and Rider. Danielle was the first to respond when a fan questioned if they had ever had feelings for one another in the form of a crush. She said, “I’ll go first,” to his question. “Rider was the object of my sexual desire.”
It seems that Rider, who played Shawn Hunter opposite Danielle’s character Topanga Lawrence in the cherished ABC series, was unaware of this information. The rider is now 42 years old.
He screamed, “That’s not true, you’ve never told me that!” in response to the statement. You’ve been holding on to that for three decades?
So … You had a huge crush on me when I was just starting out. Jonathan Taylor Thomas and I both worked on this. You really had the teen magazine business under control all the way through the 1990s.
Danielle followed by expressing her heartfelt sentiments about her current cohost as well as her previous costar by saying, “It is too true.”
“I believe it started maybe later in the first season, but it didn’t become apparent until far into the second season. I did. I had a significant attraction to Rider. I had no idea, but he was extremely intelligent.
You are aware that Rider’s outgoing personality is one of my favourite aspects about him, and I feel the same way about him even now.
He won’t hold back from expressing how he truly feels, and while he’s generous with his compliments, he won’t just give them out for no reason. When Rider compliments you, you can know that he has put some thought into it, that it has some significance, and that it is coming from a very authentic place.
It appears that their mutual interest in performing contributed to the development of their infatuation with one another.
She shared, “I remember getting a very genuine compliment from Rider,” which was one of her favourite compliments.
“And then experiencing something along the lines of ‘Oh my God, I adore you” Danielle stated that their relationship developed into “a very nice, deep friendship and we had very meaningful conversations” even though she may have “annoyed” Rider when she first began playing Topanga. She did so while acknowledging the possibility that she did so.
