ACCA Certification Encourages Employees to Take on Demanding Tasks. — FCT-IRS Head

According to the FCT-IRS, the recognised employer recognition status that will be bestowed upon the service by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) will enable the personnel to take on more significant tasks.

This was said by Mr Haruna Abdullahi, the Acting Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Inland Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), during his appearance at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Forum in Abuja.

NAN is quick to point out that ACCA has just recently granted employer status to the FCT-IRS in honour of efforts made toward the development of a skilled and long-lasting labour force.

“It is quite significant. The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is a worldwide organisation and, if I have my facts straight, it is most likely the largest accounting body in the entire globe.

“The fact that it acknowledges the FCT-IRS and confirms that you are an approved employer with ACCA is excellent news for the service.

“I believe that somewhere, we are doing something right, and somebody is noticing it.

“I will give you an example in Nigeria; nowadays, it is just a few organisations like the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Security and Exchange Commission, and quite a few agencies like Price Water House (PWC) that have received that kind of recognition.” “I will give you an example in Nigeria.”

According to him, it is a wonderful opportunity for us, but it also comes with a substantial amount of responsibility since it indicates that we are obligated to live up to the standard that we have been evaluated against.

In addition to expressing his happiness over the turn of events, Abdullahi went on to describe it as a significant milestone for the FCT-IRS.

Abdullahi extended praise to ACCA and remarked that the recognition could not have come at a better moment, noting that it provides the Service with a competitive advantage both domestically and internationally, particularly regarding capacity creation.

According to him, ACCA is a global platform, and recognition from such a prestigious association is capable of elevating the service to the next level. [citation needed]

The head of the FCT-IRS made a commitment to assure the ongoing partnership and collaboration of the Service in the process of constructing a “new public sector” that is staffed by people who are skilled, diligent, and competent.
