According to two sources with knowledge of the situation, one of former President Donald Trump’s attorneys signed a letter in June asserting that there was no more classified information stored at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.
The letter was written to assert that there was no longer any classified information stored at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.
The letter, which was signed by the attorney, raises new questions about the number of persons who may have legal exposure in the continuing investigation into the handling of sensitive data during Trump’s time in the White House.
The sources did not provide any information regarding the date the letter was signed or who did it. It was a continuation of communications that have been going on between the Justice Department and me regarding the matter.
The existence of the letter was originally brought to public attention by the New York Times.
In a previous report by CNN, it was stated that after a meeting in June at Mar-a-Lago, where officials from the Department of Justice left with classified information, investigators developed evidence, including testimony from a witness, that led investigators to believe that there was still more classified information in documents stored at the complex.
According to court documents that were unsealed and made public on Friday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) is looking into three different federal crimes as part of its ongoing investigation.
These crimes are violations of the Espionage Act, obstruction of justice, and criminal handling of government records.
The inclusion of the violations suggested that the agency had probable cause to investigate those offences while it was gathering evidence in the search. Nobody has been arrested or charged with committing a crime at this time.

CNN has in the past divulged the information that federal investigators were in attendance at the meeting that took place in June. Jay Bratt, who was the head of the Justice Department’s counterintelligence and export control department at the time, was one of the federal investigators who were looking into the case.
During the discussion, there were also present Evan Corcoran and Christina Bobb, both of whom are members of the legal team that serves President Trump.
According to another source, during the meeting in June, officials for Trump notified investigators that the president had declassified all of the papers that were in question. This information was provided during the meeting.
“Just like every Democrat-fabricated witch hunt previously, the water of this unprecedented and unnecessary raid is being carried by a media willing to run with suggestive leaks, anonymous sources, and no hard facts,” said Taylor Budowich, a spokesperson for the Trump administration, in a statement that was issued to CNN.
