After a Vehicle Accident, Anne Heche Receives Help From Hollywood, Proving That She Was Clearly in a Crisis

Hollywood A-listers Alec Baldwin, Rosie O’Donnell, and Rosanna Arquette are among many who are thinking of Anne Heche in the wake of the actor’s terrible vehicle tragedy in Mar Vista last week.

Heche ended up in the hospital on Friday after colliding with another car and setting a house on fire. She suffered burns and is now coma-bound.

A spokesperson for Heche informed The Times in a statement that as of Monday, Heche “is in critical condition” and has “serious lung damage needing mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention.”

In several films and stage productions, including “The Juror” and “Twentieth Century,” Baldwin and Heche co-starred. Baldwin expressed his condolences to his “old comrade of mine.”

Baldwin wrote on Saturday on Instagram that she had “not worked with many women who are fearless in the manner that Anne is brave.” “She would take any action. She had a lot of originality and bravery.

Heche was described by the “30 Rock” star as “an extremely gifted woman,” and he expressed his wish for her speedy recovery. His supporters, though, weren’t quite as impressed with her Friday deeds.

“Did you notice how errant she was driving and how she struck a building before she crashed? Have you seen the RING doorbell video? She’s lucky she didn’t murder anyone, someone wrote in response to Baldwin’s Instagram picture.

Neighbours saw the actor driving quickly along their street before the collision. Before the disaster, she was seen in Venice looking at a red wig at a local hair salon.

To ascertain whether Heche was driving under the influence, Los Angeles police revealed on Monday that detectives are looking into the collision and have a search warrant for her blood.

On Friday, 59 firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the incident, and it took 65 minutes for the flames to be completely doused.

In a tweet posted hours after the collision, Arquette called Heche’s fiery tragedy “very terrible” and urged her followers to “pray for her.” Arquette responded to a fan who questioned Heche’s actions by stating that the actor “obviously was in a crisis.”

James Tupper, Heche’s ex-boyfriend and the father of their son Atlas, posted a picture of the actress on Instagram on Saturday along with his “thoughts and prayers.”

Similar to Thomas Jane, another ex-boyfriend, Heche is expected to “get through” and recover from her wounds, he told the Daily Mail on Saturday.

The co-star of Heche in the 2021 movie “13 Minutes,” “Twilight” actor Peter Facinelli, wrote to Heche on his Instagram Story and expressed his concern for her and her “beautiful family.”

Heche received good wishes from Rosie O’Donnell as well, but only after she apologized for her previous 20-year-old criticism of Heche.

In a video uploaded to TikTok on Monday, she stated, “So I can’t stop thinking about the Anne Heche accident and how awful the whole thing is. I regret making fun of her since, as I said, “she was chatting to Barbara Walters about dating extraterrestrial aliens.”

O’Donnell was alluding to a stand-up comedy performance she gave in New York City in 2002, where she poked light at Heche’s 2001 interview with the seasoned journalist. Additionally, the former host of a daytime talk program had cast doubt on Heche’s pregnancy with her ex-husband Coleman Laffoon.

O’Donnell commented on Monday’s TikTok, “I wonder whether she’s OK.” “I consider it a miracle that she didn’t kill anyone and I thank god, the goddess, or whoever for that. I also hope she makes it, but wow. Such a horrible story. O’Donnell continued.
