In Advance of Weight Loss Surgery, 16-year-old Honey Boo Boo Shares a Look at Her Senior Year Portrait.

She’s maturing so quickly! As she gets ready to start her senior year of high school, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 26, posted pictures of her senior photographs on Instagram on August 5. In the photo carousel (seen here), Alana is pictured grinning while donning the customary black graduation robe. She is also shown in a behind-the-scenes shot of her as she is being photographed. Alana may be seen beaming in two other photos while representing her high school with a black long sleeve blouse with the words “SENIOR” on it and a white pleated tennis skirt bearing the letters “WCHS.” Senior year, please. Alana captioned the lovely images with enthusiasm.

Another significant occasion in Alana’s life is not her senior year. She made the decision to get weight loss surgery public in July, saying she hopes to lose 125 pounds in order to reach her 150-pound goal. After Alana’s birthday on August 28th, when she will turn 17, the procedure will happen shortly after. The specific technique Alana is scheduled to receive is a suture sculpt endoscopic sleeve, a “non-surgical outpatient procedure” that reduces the stomach’s capacity by 70–80% without physically cutting the stomach smaller.

Since appearing on “Toddlers & Tiaras” as a toddler, Alana Thompson has grown up in the spotlight.
The mother of Alana, June “Mama June” Shannon, 42, with whom she has a very tense relationship, revealed that she was not entirely pleased with her daughter’s decision to get surgery after learning about it from the media. The Mama June: Road To Redemption actress, who has herself undergone weight loss surgery before, said to TMZ on July 27 that she would be supportive if Alana wanted to get the procedure, but she should wait until daughter was 18 years old.

Even though she had her own reservations about having the procedure, Alana ultimately determined it was the right choice for her. When asked about her decision-making process, she said to Entertainment Tonight, “I just want to make sure that this is genuinely something I want to do before I simply go and do it. “I want to make sure that it’s not something that’s going to kill me, like. Before I go ahead and do it, I just want to be sure that it’s something I really want to do.

The TLC reality star then gave an explanation of why the procedure is beneficial for her. She said, “I know for a fact that I could go to the gym, I know for a fact that I could diet, and I know for a fact that I can do this to lose my weight.” “I’ve attempted. I’ll admit that I’ve tried, but the one problem I have is a lack of drive. I’m not inspired to simply keep going to the gym every day. Because I’ll eat whatever I deem to be excellent, I have no incentive to continue eating well.
