Ten million people are still waiting for their stimulus checks, according to a recent report.
The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration produced the report, which identified several potential causes for payment delays.
There were some individual errors along with a backlog of hundreds of thousands of tax returns at the IRS.
The Rogersville Review notes that the majority of recipients of stimulus payments received them via check or direct deposit.
Some individuals got them in the form of debit cards. Unfortunately, many people mistakenly discarded these cards as junk mail.
According to the TIGTA report, many people’s payments have been delayed as a result of manually examining stimulus claims and debit card rules.

According to the IRS, federal stimulus checks totalling $931 billion were issued in 2020 and 2021.
To put it into perspective, the IRS only distributed less than $200 billion in stimulus funds to Americans between 2001 and 2019.

Florida is distributing $450 in new stimulus checks to nearly 60,000 families to help counteract the effects of inflation. The one-time payment will go to the foster and adoptive families in the state.

More than 236,000 stimulus checks are being issued, according to the Oregon Department of Revenue (DOR).
Under the state’s one-time assistance of $141.8 million plan, which was approved by lawmakers in March, they are each worth $600.
