A new online tool has been developed to assist millions of taxpayers who do not typically file tax returns in providing the information required to receive payments.
Americans who haven’t filed their taxes for 2018 or 2019 can now submit basic personal information through a new “Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here” web portal launched this week by the U.S. Department of Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service.
Those making payments should enter their bank account information so that their funds can be transferred directly to their account.
According to Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin, the ‘Non-Filers: Enter Payment Information Here’ web portal is a tool for Americans who are not required to file tax returns to ensure that they receive their payment as soon and safely as possible.
Treasury and IRS personnel are working around the clock to ensure that Americans receive their Economic Impact Payments.
If you are not a tax filer, you must enter your payment information on IRS.gov. The tool will require the following information to verify eligibility, compute Economic Impact Payments, and transmit them:
The Internal Revenue Service will release an online tool called “Get My Payment” later this month.
It enables taxpayers who filed their tax returns in 2018 or 2019 but did not include their bank account information in their return to provide that information so that they can receive payments via direct deposit rather than checks in the mail.
“Get My Payment” has been included to help taxpayers keep track of their payments. If you did not file a tax return in 2018, or 2019, do not use this form. Your payment will be made in the same manner as your social security payments.
According to Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Chuck Rettig, “the IRS is working hard to identify innovative ways for individuals who do not have a filing requirement to receive their Economic Impact Payment.”
“These payments can be registered using the Non-Filers tool.” The Free File Alliance did an excellent job of translating this utility into Spanish so that it can be used by a wider audience. Part of an effort to reach out to underserved areas.”
The ‘Non-Filers: Enter Payment Information Here’ web portal is a tool that, according to Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin, is designed for citizens of the United States who are not required to file tax returns to guarantee that they receive their payments as quickly and securely as is humanly possible.
Treasury and Internal Revenue Service employees are working around the clock to ensure that citizens of the United States receive the Economic Impact Payments to which they are entitled.
