Where is the Money That Was Refunded to Me? Despite the Fact That the IRS Claims It Has Sent the Money, Many People Are Still Waiting for Their Tax Refunds

There has been a theft of tax refunds owed by the federal government amounting to thousands of dollars.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) stated that it had sent the money some months ago, but many people are still waiting for it.

“More than $16,000 is involved in this transaction. Simply put, I require my money, “Crystal Williams remarked.

Another individual who is still waiting for her tax refund for 2021 is Nichole Smith. Their value of hers is greater than $17,000.

“It’s incredibly frustrating given that I have six children and I need my money,” said Smith. “It’s really upsetting.”

Both of the women did their taxes using TurboTax, and they were under the impression that their refunds would be issued in the form of a check. Instead, their money was placed at Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, often known as TPG.

This is the bank that processes returns when you want to have your tax preparation expenses removed from your refund.

Both of the women have contacted TurboTax because they have not received their tax refunds.

Smith reported that Turbo Tax had stated that they no longer had control over the situation. “I’ve tried to get in touch with them, but there’s only a prepared message,” I said.

Williams said that she was able to communicate with TPG, and they confirmed that a refund cheque was mailed to her in the spring. Williams said she was able to reach TPG.

Williams stated that TPG told her to “call us back and let us know” if she didn’t have to by the 10th of April. Williams claimed that this carried on for several weeks.

Despite TPG’s assertions that the check was delivered on three separate occasions, she never received a check for the amount of her return.

“I have informed delivery. Since I have a post office box, retrieving my mail is never an issue for me. The problem is that they keep saying that it is being mailed, but it is not as if it is going to be lost every time they state that they have mailed it. It is not going to happen “Smith remarked.

There are more people affected by this problem than just Smith and Williams. In the past year, the Santa Barbara Tax Products Group has been the subject of more than one thousand complaints to the Better Business Bureau, which has resulted in the business receiving a grade of F. The overwhelming bulk of the complaints come from frustrated taxpayers who are waiting for their tax refund from TPG.

The troubleshooter Diane Wilson contacted both TPG and Turbo Tax for assistance. TPG is a subsidiary of Greendot, neither of which responded to the inquiry, but TurboTax assured Williams and Smith that they would collaborate with them directly.

After several months of waiting, both of these women have confirmed that they did, in fact, hear from Turbo Tax, and they are now hopeful that they will soon receive the tax refunds which they are due.

When it comes to Williams and Smith’s tax refund for the year 2021, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has already processed it.

However, the IRS is still processing returns for other taxpayers, particularly those who did not file electronically.

If you filed your taxes by the deadline and did not receive your refund within 45 days of filing, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is required to pay you interest for each additional day that you did not receive your refund.
