Professor Laurence Tribe at Harvard Law School, who previously taught Attorney General Merrick Garland, thinks the former student would indict former President Donald Trump for the uprising on January 6.
Days after bombshell testimony was given during the most recent meeting of the House Select Committee on January 6, Tribe made the prediction in an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.
Blitzer questioned Tribe if she believed that the US Justice Department will indict Trump in light of the most recent information and developments.
“Well, Merrick Garland is a friend of mine and a former student; I wish I knew. He is an upright man “Tribe got going. He promised to go to the top of the evidence pointed there, which it most definitely does now.
Several recent searches by federal investigators, like the taking of former Trump attorney John Eastman’s phone, according to Tribe, show “convincing proof that the Justice Department is not content to stop with the foot soldiers. The generals will receive it, and Donald Trump is by far the largest general.”
Tribe stated, “I do think the chances are he will be indicted. Tribe responded, “If I had to speculate, it would be my guess,” when Blitzer questioned him on whether he believed Garland would file the indictment against Trump.
According to the January 6 committee, there is sufficient evidence to request that Trump be charged by the Justice Department.
According to Insider Camila DeChalus, the committee is probably gathering proof to prosecute Trump with accusations like conspiring to deceive the government, hindering an official investigation, wire fraud, and witness tampering.
However, authorities acknowledged Trump might make a compelling legal argument.

The tribe claimed that if he were to prosecute Trump, he would be concerned about the likelihood of a hung jury since there would likely be a member who thinks Trump can do no wrong.
He claimed that he would be concerned about any disruption that an indictment would bring about as well.
“I am aware that a former president’s indictment would spark a lot of social possibly violent heat “he stated. But a second violent uprising would be encouraged if he were not charged.
